It is one of those rainy days today.

:) I went to bed last night with all my bed room windows opened. :) To my great delight this morning I woke up (about an hour before my alarm clock went off) to the sound of rain on the metal roof and its’ fresh crisp smell in the air. :) It's on days like today that I want to curl up with a good book by a big window. I love the way all the colors seem to almost glow against the gray sky when it is raining lightly and intensify when the sun does first come out and everything is still wet.
:) Starbucks is busy this morning.We will probable be pretty slow this morning here at work. Today, after I get off I need to finish up some things at home then I'm planning on going over to the Castlebury's for a little bit. :) I'm looking forward to see what Trevor has done. :) Every day by something he might say or do I'm reminded how very undeserving I am of his love and affection.
:) Looking around all that is surrounding me I know that I have really been blessed. There is nothing I have done or could possible do to be worthy of it. I could skip with joy at the thought... Oh what a wonderful and merciful God I have!!! :)

Have a wonderful day!

Watching the boys work!

Friday and Saturday I was over at Bull Run (The road Trevor is building the house on.) having fun watching him work.
:) How would you like to have this guy building you a house??? Thankfully he had lots of people to keep an eye on him. :)
I showed up Friday morning and Trevor gave me a tour. :) Then I went flower picking and he and his brothers started back to work. Trevor had no vase for me to put these weeds in, so a coil of nails was used.
His dad and brothers helped a lot!!! :)

By the time they left Saturday evening this is what it looked like. :)
Monday and Tuesday Trevor claims to have walked in circles around the house, blowing a trumpet seeing if it would fall down. He was glad it didn't. (I highly recommend doing a blog post with Trevor for the first time late at night. It's a LOT of FUN!!!) I personally think he might have done a little work though. Like the porch off the front...
:) Trevor helped with this post. He would sit there and snicker while trying to read my scrambled miss spelled words out loud... :) He has a very happy contagious way about him when He is getting sleepy. It was a lot of fun doing it. :)
I really like the first picture. What do you think of it???
Have a wonderful day ya'll. :)

Trip to Rock Hill and Other Fun Things :)

:) Hello!!! How are you doing today? I'm at work watching the rain fall outside. We have been pretty slow this morning. Anna and I have been working on cutting business cards and finishing up a printing job for Bryson Middle School. :) It's been nice.

:) I'd like you to meet my Uncle Henry and Aunt Brenda.
(My dad is the youngest of four boys. Uncle Henry is the middle one of the older three.)
Thursday afternoon (right after I got off of work) I went home to pick up Adah, throw some clothes in a bag, and hit the road heading toward Rock Hill.

Looking back at pictures I'm reminded how much Adah's hair fits her. She would just not be the same if it had been straight!!! Last night we (Adah, Lance, JEB, and I) went over to Sheppard's apartment for a while. Adah was trying her best to get Sheppard to laugh by tickling his toes. After doing this for about a minute, she decided it was not going to work so started attempting to tickle his ear with some of her hair... Her hair was just curling around the end of her finger, and she could not see what she was doing. And all the while Sheppard was setting there with this "What in world does she think this is going to accomplish?" look on his face. :0) It was so funny watching her try. It looked something like this...
Anyway... We arrived around 5 and went for a walk around the lake.

Uncle Henry and Aunt Brenda live next door to where my dad's parents used to live. Granddad and Grandma have both passed away and the brothers decided to sell the land.

Aunt Brenda said the present owner is very nice and has given them an open invitation to come over and walk around any time they would like.

Here Uncle Henry is pointing at the fish eating bugs off the water.

:) Later Adah and I went shopping with Aunt Brenda while Uncle Henry went to his Bible study group. I had brought along a sewing job that had to be done by Saturday morning and was taking longer then I had thought it would to finish it. So after we had gotten back to the house, eaten, and played some games, Adah called it a night and did a little sewing.

~~~
Friday morning we went swimming. :) Uncle Henry gave diving lessons. I'm not very good at, and Adah had never dived before. :) After about two hours in the water, (Most of which was spent diving over a pole Uncle Henry was holding for us.) we are both much more confident about jumping head first in. Adah did suffer from a really bad belly flop and that set her back a little. It was fun!!! :)
I went back to sewing and Adah helped Aunt Brenda fix lunch.
It was very good.
Afterwards, we all sat around and talked for a couple of hours. :)
Adah looks a little tired.
Adah had the camera most of the trip. She took a ton of pictures.
After about the 6th picture in a row Uncle Henry said he was done smiling and thus the pouty lip. This of course led in to making faces....
Uncle Henry wrote instructions on a faster way to get home.... :) Us being two girls (combined with him saying get on to I-77 and leaving north and south off the directions) we took a slightly longer way home. Then...
:) going through Spartanburg we start hearing a well, not so healthy sound coming from under the hood on the passengers’ side. The temperature gauge shot over to Hot and the charge light came on. As quickly as we could we got off of I-85 and turned in several circles trying to find a place to stop. Coming to rest at a gas station we popped the hood having not a clue as to what we were looking for. There was a pool of coolant forming on the drivers’ side and without much looking we found pieces of a belt. :) Now having something with which to answer the 'well,... do you know what’s wrong?’ question. We called daddy.
(Dad's work truck had broken down that morning. He had been pulled over in a school zone for speeding, but was only given a warning. Mom was at a church ladies meeting and had the truck. When we called, Dad was at home with no way to leave.)
I texted Trevor after I got off the phone with Dad. He called me a couple minutes later. Then he called Dad. He had just got off of work and sweetly came and rescued us from have to sit longer in a very hot car. OUR HERO!
I finish the sewing job just in nIck of time and delivered it Saturday morning. :) I was very glad to have that one done!!!
Then later Daddy, Sheppard, Lance, JEB, and I went and picked up my car. Sheppard finished up the paper work and picked up the key for his apartment on the way home. :) We got home and Sheppard's stuff started being loaded into his truck. Adah, Lance, and JEB all went with to his apt. to drop it off and have a look around. :) I caught up on some of the sleep I had lost due to the deadline of the sewing project.
:) My car was taken to the mechanic Monday. Tuesday was a rather hectic heap of schedule combinations. The car was fixed and mom dropped a very thankful me off to pick it up Tuesday around 5 after a very full day of shuffling. I'm VERY glad to have it back!
(... and it was only gone for four days. I don't know how you did without your truck for months Trevor!)
So that's what my weekend was like. :) Lots of fun, though I do hope it does not happen again anytime soon.
Sorry this post is so long.
Have ya'll been having a good week?
Have a good day!!! :)
Trip to the Creation Museum
August 29-31 2008
Hello! :) This is the group that went tho the museum. We left Friday morning and spent the day in the cars riding. :)
We arived at the campground (I think...) around 5.
Our camp site was on a hill so everything was slanted. :)
Looking through the pictures there dad must have had shaky hands cause all of them are rather blurry.
Trevor and his pillow... :) He was teased a little.
Saturday we visited the museum.
Here are some pictures. :) Hope you enjoy.
What a fine looking sister and brother!
Sam says he remembers these from when he was young.
Dear Old Dad!
It was a GREAT trip and I'm really glad I went...
Who is sneaking up on us with a camera?
How big is a cubit anyway?
Is this the first condo complex?
Please watch your step as you disembark from the ark!
I'm leaving to visit my aunt and uncle in Rock Hill right after work Today. I have to leave before I can finish this, :) therefore some of the comments are from my co-workers. I'll post on our trip some time next week. :)
:) Have a great day.
